This EP is something like the shadow counterpart to Sonnenfarbe. These instrumentals are rooted in spontaneity, improvisation, and experimentation. While working on Sonnenfarbe, I often found myself playing around with ideas that didn't fit those songs, but that I still thought worthy of attention.

* Coleus scutellarioides - Written, performed, and recorded by Patti Vacek and Craig Hurst. Craig did the drums, I added a bass part I had lingering around, and the rest was improvised around that.

* Aeonium nobile and Corpuscularia lehmannii - Written and performed by Patti Vacek, Tim Howard, and Claudius Boch. These were recorded as improvisational jams that I then later edited into more cohesive structures. Tim played guitar on both; Claudius played drums on Aoenium and bass on Corpuscularia; and I played bass on Aoenium and drums on Corpuscularia. These are a bit loose and there is some distortion due to the primitive circumstances of the recording, but I think the results are worth the flaws.

* Laccaria amethystina - Inspired by the Dao De Jing and a hike to Nico's grave in Grunewald.

* Amanita pantherina - Edited from a single extended take of simultaneous guitar and synthesizer performance. Inspired by mushroom hunting in Arendsee.
